What were the beginnings of the telecommunications industry? We delved into this question during our company trip this year.
Our time travel started at the Radio and Telephone Museum in Wertingen. Coinciding with the 100th anniversary of the introduction of radio in Germany, we were able to discover devices from the 1920s and later decades. The development of telephones to today's smartphones was especially exciting for us as an IT hardware manufacturer. Thanks to a BORMANN-colleague who volunteers at this museum, the entire team gained a diverse insight.
We traveled deeper into the past on our second stop. The UNESCO World Heritage Site "Lonetal" is located about 80 km from Augsburg. In the present-day Swabian Alb, we were impressed by caves and archaeological facts of Ice Age art from 40,000 years ago. It got sporty with the "Steinmännchen" challenge, where the winning team built a stone tower with over 2 meters in five minutes.
Back in the present, our hike ended at the beer garden of the former Lindenau Monastery. Well-fed and with many new impressions, we took the bus back to Neusaess.
